Principal's Message

Welcome to Tioga Elementary School!

Mrs. Crystal Furniss has devoted her entire educational career to Tioga Elementary.  She began teaching in August of 2005 after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Louisiana College.  During her seven years as a special education teacher, she taught students with emotional and behavior disorders and mild/moderate disabilities. She received the Tioga Elementary Teacher of the Year for 2007-2008.  A year after earning her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northwestern State University, she assumed the position of assistant principal in which she served three years before taking the role of principal.  During her time at Tioga, she has fostered the belief that all students can and will learn when supported by a collaborative relationship with teachers and parents.  She is a compassionate leader who is committed to the students, faculty, staff, and community.
